David T. Erwin

David T. Erwin, aged 86, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, his all-time favorite holiday. Dave was born in Darby, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1939, to John Paul And Mary Agnes (Loughery) Erwin. He is predeceased by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Roberta (Bobbi) Engelbrink Erwin, daughters Dianne Noble (Steve), Debra McNeil (Jim), son Dave, Jr. (Melanie), grandchildren Aliana, Skyler, and Zak Noble, Caitlin (Blais),aleigh(Barry), Rob and Ben McNeil, Samantha and Madison Erwin, step grandsons Ben (Emma) and Jay (Kate), as well as nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and their offspring.

Dave graduated in 1957, from Lower Merion High School, where he played lacrosse and football, and went on to Penn State University where he studied Labor Management Relations. He was named an All-American Lacrosse player in 1961 while at PSU, and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, and Druids honor society. At graduation in 1961 Dave was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the US Army Intelligence Corps, married Bobbi later that year, and began the adventure that lasted over 63 years. After six years of military service, four posts, and the birth of two daughters, he received an honorable discharge along with several medals, including an Army Commendation Medal. Dave then began a career with Xerox Corporation, starting in sales but rising through the ranks to a Vice President’s position. Along the way were many more moves, another child, son Dave Jr., and a variety of dogs, cats and horses. Dave and Bobbi retired to Skidaway Island in Georgia, where he enjoyed golf, bird hunting, bridge, and volunteering at The Savannah Book Festival. Summer were always spent in Gloucester, MA, where fishing, sailing, boating and beaching with the extended family gave him the most pleasure.

Services will be held in Dave’s favorite place, Gloucester, Massachusetts at a later date, and a Celebration Of Life at the Landings in the fall. If you wish to remember Dave with a donation, please consider The Landings Military Relief Fund, Savannah Book Festival and the Salvation Army.

GUEST BOOK

I so enjoyed having David as a client and golfing buddy. We enjoyed many years playing Bass Rocks member guests together and the occasional summer dinner in Gloucester. My prayers are with Bobbi and the family. David
